RIGHTS & LICENSING
STANDARD CARDOE RECORD MUSIC OFFERING TERMS
Standard Rights & Licensing
Unless a final signed agreement states otherwise, Cardoe Record retains the underlying copyright and publishing ownership in the composition and does not transfer ownership of those interests merely because a song is purchased, previewed, or entered into auction.
What a purchaser is acquiring
The purchaser acquires only the performance, use, or other licensing rights specifically identified in the final written agreement for that song. The agreement will identify whether the grant is exclusive or non-exclusive, the permitted uses, territory, term, media, and any other limitations.
Rights retained by Cardoe Record
Copyright, publishing, songwriter interests, and any master ownership not expressly transferred in the final written agreement remain with Cardoe Record and/or the applicable rights holder. No website payment, auction entry fee, full-song preview fee, bid, or winning-bid charge by itself transfers copyright or publishing ownership.
Auctions and purchases
A winning auction charge establishes the winning purchase amount and the buyer's obligation to complete the transaction. Final delivery and the specific rights grant are governed by the written rights agreement provided for that offering.
Preview access
Standard catalog previews are limited excerpts. Paid full-song preview access is for evaluation only and does not grant permission to copy, distribute, publicly perform, publish, synchronize, resell, or otherwise exploit the recording.
